Dimensional definitions

The geometry definitions of the dimensions are shown in the above figure. Dsi is the coil ID for slotless motors and gac is the actual air gap from Mod to Dsbi per side. Arcm is the angular pole span per pole and is 180 mechanical degrees in the figure shown above.

Motor parts

The above figure show the motor parts in the slotless motor. The slot liner fits in between the winding and the stator for the slotless motor.

Shown above is a 3-D electromagnetic model of a slotless motor. The accumulation buffer has been used to soften the image.
