For outer rotating motors, the Dso and Dsi variables are swapped. Lrbi can be used here to specify the thickness of the rotor back iron. The flux concentration factor is usually greater or equal to unity in outer rotor motors as the magnet area is larger than the air gap area.

For slotted outer rotor motors, the design properties mentioned in the slotted inner rotor motor page are identical.

Samarium does not support slotless outer rotor motors at this time.
